Compete 360 is a 501(c)3 organization founded by Garry Maddox to support the education and development of urban youth. For fourteen years, Mr. Maddox’s charity provided academic support and enrichment programming to children in grades K-8 in Atlantic City, Camden, and Philadelphia. A few years ago, the organization adopted a new name, Compete 360, and a new mission–to cultivate a design thinking practice in city schools by training teachers, facilitating student projects, and hosting the DT Philly Challenge, a city-wide innovation competition where our student design teams present their projects and compete for grants to help them develop and implement their ideas.
